The Crochet Dude Collection and Giveaway!

We have another giveaway here at Cute Crochet Chat and I am certain you will all be thrilled with the chance to win these great prizes! This month we are giving away crochet hooks and accessories from The Crochet Dude!
I am a Boye girl and I have been since I started crocheting almost 35 years ago. I am sure that I could crochet with other brands of hooks, but because I love my crochet hook set from Boye so much, I really have no desire to.
That is why when Drew Emborsky, also known as The Crochet Dude, announced that he was going to be coming out with his own line of crochet hooks and implements, I was thrilled to hear it was with BOYE!
In the last few years, Drew Emborsky has taken the crochet world by storm, giving us wonderful books of his designs to his own PATTERN LINE and FREE PATTERNS to his Purse Pattern of the Month Club. And now he has his own line of crochet hooks and accessories known as The Crochet Dude Collection! There is something for every crocheter in Drew's crochet line. The collection includes a Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Crochet Kit, sets of crochet aluminum hooks crochet plastic hooks and steel crochet hooks, a retractable tape measure, yarn cutter, beaded stitch markers, cool stress relieving gloves, a hook organizer case and curved blade snips! What a great collection!

We are thrilled to be giving away some of the items from his collection. The items include The Crochet Dude Aluminum Hook Set IN Carrying Case (D,E, F, G, H, I, J, and K), a Retractable Tape Measure and the Crochet Plastic Hook Set, (L, P, & Q).

In order to be eligible to win one or more of these prizes, become a FOLLOWER OF THIS BLOG (in the left sidebar) and leave a comment on this post.  Let us know what brand and kind of crochet hooks you like and use the most. It will be fun to see all the different responses! PLEASE, PLEASE don't forget to leave your contact information and/or email address, so we can contact you if you are one of the winners!
Two (2) lucky winners will be drawn at random at the end of the contest!
Good luck!
OUR CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED. Thank you to EVERYONE who participated!

Hi! I have been following this blog some months ago. Well about the hooks, I really do not have preferences, I live in Finland which is a different language for me and I just go shopping the first things I see, because is hard to find the yarn stores where the different types are, so I became a very versatile crocheter! :) plastic, metal, cheap, expensive, all of them are OK for me.

Hi! Just found this blog, I'll be checking back daily to see what's new. I learned to crochet years ago as a girl scout and have just recently picked it up again after joining our fiber arts club in our community. I don't have a preference for hooks but wouldn't purchase any thing other than the Boye brand. I've love the Crochet Dude and have purchased a couple of his books! Keep up the good work.

Following your blog now.

I normally use Boye Brand Hooks. I love them. I have tried an array of hooks but I seem to always navigate back to my metal boye hooks.

I am so excited to find your blog! I love to crochet and had been looking for good blogs to follow on this addictive hobby.

I am a Boye girl too and usually enjoy the metal hooks. I have a couple of larger plastic hooks that I purchased when no metal hooks were available but...they work well too!

Deaf Crochet Poetess said...

I prefer Susan Bates hooks with wooden handles as they feel so comfortable! And I just joined this gang to follow you. ;-) I admire Crochet Dude! I told my husband he could learn to crochet, and he said NO WAY. Then I told him about Crochet Dude! He was kind of impressed!

I am a follower of your awesome blog and I only use boye hooks. I was given some SB hooks, but just don't care for the straight hook. It seems my yarn 'flows' when using Boye.

Thanks for the chance to win!

This was my first visit and I thoroughly enjoyed it! You have definitely gained another loyal follower! I usually use aluminum hooks, I like the weight. Boye is definitely my favorite brand, too. I find them most comfortable to use and have been using them for years.

Good day...I absolutely love meeting other crochet Divas =0) I am new to your blog & so far it's great. Now in regards to hooks, I am a boye girl as well but I am not impartial to aluminum hooks.

Hello. I think all but one of my crochet hooks is Boye. The other one is bamboo. As much as I love the look of the wood, I find crocheting much easier and smoother with the Boye hooks. I am also a big fan of Drew :)

i really like the crochet dude - my son aspires to be like him! :-)hahahaha
i use F and G quite a bit. sometimes the smaller hooks but not often.
i like the metal hooks better than plastic. sometimes when i look at my F hook i wonder if i am rubbing it thinner! :-)
recently i have had to keep guard over my hooks since my son has been peeking at what i have.

Sara said...

hello, I am already a follower. I use the aluminun hooks most. The don't care for the plastic one. I use rubber grip because I crochet so mush I get blisters!! :O)

I do follow the Crochet Dude, too and love his patterns.
would love to try out his hooks and items.

I have been following you for quite a while and I also prefer Boye brand hooks. However I needed a very large hook - 1/2" diameter - and could not find one at the local stores so I ended up making my own from a hard wood dowel.

What a wonderful giveaway! I love your site and Drew's too! I was given a bamboo set of hooks for Christmas, and I love them. I don't know which brand they are. Much better than the cheap plastic ones I had before.

I'm not sure what brands of hooks I have. Most of them have been bought at Big W or Spotlight and have the plastic handles. I find that the smaller hook dig into my hand and the handles make them more comfortable.

Love new to me crochet sites and love hooks, combine the two with a giveaway and I'm in heaven!

I use Clover soft touch hooks. I've tried Etimo Tulip hooks and wasn't impressed. I have a couple of beautiful hand crafted hooks that feel wonderful in my hand, but I won't use them for fear of breaking or losing them.

Was following on Twitter & am happy to follow your blog, too! Like you, my fave hooks are aluminum boye hooks. They're the only ones I use. Since I make up patterns as I go along, I try to keep a hook in each project bag & always seem to need more I & J hooks. (That could also be because my nieces have sticky fingers!)
Cool giveaway idea - good luck!

Oohh....what a great give away! I've been wanting to try some of Drew's stuff, but I haven't been able to find it in local stores. I don't know if I have been crocheting long enough to have a favorite hook, but so far, it seems to depend on the project. I've got Boye, Susan Bates, 1 Etimo, and some "generic" metal and bamboo hooks that I got from China.

Thanks for having such a great giveaway!!! This is my first visit to your blog, and I'm glad to have found it! (I don't look around at blogs nearly as much as I should!)

I'm a "Boye" gal all the way!! I have several handmade wood hooks that I love also, but they have 'boye-style' hooks. I've got a few Bates hooks that I acquired somewhere - but I just don't like them nearly as much as my Boyes. To each their own, but I do prefer Boye hooks greatly over in-lines.
