Bunches of Flowers, Leaves and Other Delights by Suzann Thompson
Today is the first day of Summer! And just in time, we have a wonderful crochet book giveaway that is chock full of Summertime! Lark Crafts has just released a beautiful new book,
Crochet Garden, "Bunches of Flowers, Leaves and Other Delights, by Suzann Thompson.
If you are a flower enthusiast and a crocheter, then you are going to LOVE this book!
Suzann "provides a delightful collection of garden-inspired creations" for crocheters looking for small and lovely projects to make. The book is divided into four sections: Botanical Gardens, Inspired Gardens,
International Gardens and Fun and Fantastic Gardens. Each section represents a different genre in the floral world. Botanical Gardens feature well-known varieties. Inspired Gardens are based on decorative motifs. International Gardens incorporate flower varieties from all over the World. Last but not least, Fun and Fantastic Gardens feature interpretations of many floral themes that seem to be straight out of the designer's imagination!
Suzann is a very talented designer who has painstakingly recreated an incredible amount of flowers realistically! Some patterns feature life-like interpretations of well known flowers and leaves. She does
a beautiful job of designing in crochet and many items are associated with flowers from all walks of the art world. Several crochet projects are included to incorporate these lovely blossoms into useable and wearable
art. Most designs use only small bits of yarn, so it is a great book to purchase for 'stash-busting' purposes!
This is Suzann's second flower book for Lark Crafts. Her first flower book is the ever popular Crochet Bouquet, Easy Designs for Dozens of Flowers. You can read more about Suzann's work
at www.textilefusion.com
It was incredibly difficult to choose which pattern images I was going to use for this blogpost! There are so many beautiful flower images in this book. Below are JUST A FEW of my favorites!
