The Magic Ring in Crochet
Do you crochet in the round? If so, if you haven't already done so, I would suggest that you try the 'Magic Ring'!
What is the 'Magic Ring'? It is a great way to start the first round of your crochet circle so that you don't have any holes left when you finish crocheting it. Other names for the magic ring are the magic loop, magic circle, sliding loop and adjustable ring in crochet.
For years, in my crochet designs that began in the round, I recommended, for example "ch 2; 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook". If you did not do this carefully, sometimes a hole would remain in the center of the circle, larger than you would desire.
When I discovered the Magic Ring, I loved it!
It is a great way to start your crochet circle so that no hole will be left in the center of your work. The Magic Circle is not limited to just single crochet either! You can use it for all the common crochet stitches, sc, hdc, dc, tr, etc.
The Craftsy Blog has a great tutorial posted today on how to do the 'Magic Ring'.
I have also created my own PDF tutorial for creating the Magic Ring that you may DOWNLOAD HERE. Save it to your own computer so you may have it for further reference!
I would love to know if this has been helpful for you. If so, I hope to create more CROCHET TUTORIALS in the future.
