Knit Projects

The poncho I originally wanted to make was from a Knit-It magazine issue. The poncho is on the cover.

It calls for Lion Brand Jiffy Thick and Quick, and #17 Knitting Needles. First of all, I should have bought circular needles, as it was a little difficult to push all the stitches onto a 14" knitting needle, but it was do-able. I absolutely love the colorway of this yarn I chose, but for some reason, I was not overly happy with the way the poncho started to come out.

So, as you can see, I ripped it out; several times actually, and kept starting over!
When I was not satisfied with the poncho, I tried this same pattern in a scarf, but that was not to my liking either!
I am determined to use this yarn for a knitting project!
I think I am going to go try some other knit stitch patterns for scarves!

Frogging

I'm knitting and ripping, knitting and ripping.............at least 5 times tonight! I am determined that I am going to come up with something knitted! I have changed patterns twice tonight, and started over so many times I lost count! I just have not been satisfied with the poncho pattern I was trying to make, and then tried a scarf, and didn't like that either.
I guess I will look for a new pattern tomorrow, as I love the yarn I am working with, and want to come up with a nice knitted gift with this yarn! Stay tuned......

My Frappr Map

These Frappr Maps seem like they can be so much fun! So I have created one for Cute and Country Crochet. Click on the link below:

Check out our Frappr!
to view my map.
Click on my Red Tag to read my Shoutout. Then you can add yourself and subscribe to my map, so you can get your own Red Tag on the map. I think it will be fun to see all the different places where people live. The tag will also be posted in the sidebar.
I am still working on a Snowman project for my website. I decided to change from shiny white worsted weight yarn to regular white worsted, so I had to start all over again. I have quite a bit done on it, but I did not get a chance to crochet again today! Funny how life gets in the way sometimes! I promised myself I would make time tomorrow, though, for crochet.
Of course, that also means I have not been able to start on Angela's Seraphina Shawl either. At least I know that when I do get started on that, it will go pretty fast!

New Projects

Now that my column is in the mail, I can think about starting other crochet projects. Yes! I have been thinking about a new Snowman project for my website. It should go very quickly once I get started on it. I bought a very pretty sparkly white yarn for it tonight, which should make a nice snowman fabric!
I am also going to start on another Seraphina Shawl for my daughter Angela for Christmas. That is going to be a bit harder to do, because I can only work on it when she is not around. I was surprised to find some more of the

Rainbow Boucle at Joann's.
I love this colorwork that they had. It has such beautiful tonal shades!

I did roll all of it into a large ball of yarn, though, as I remembered that the last time I worked with this yarn, it got tangled about halfway through the skein. Hopefully this work I did beforehand will save me trouble later!
Guess I will start working on the snowman tonight, as Angela is at home!

Getting Ready

Oh My Gosh! Is this the cutest thing ever?

I am usually never ready for the cold weather to come here in New York, but with this adorable little crocheting guy, I say 'bring it on'~! You can pick up your own little cutie here at Tara's. She made him herself! He fits perfectly in the sidebar. Thanks, Tara! I can't wait to see what you come up with next! Sorry, no pressure. lol
When I am done with my June column, I plan on working on some Snowmen, and this will help me get in the spirit, thanks!

Crochet Busy

The month of October was a busy crochet month for me! I have been doing alot of crocheting and alot less posting! I created several new crochet designs. Four of the designs were Christmas ones for my website, and one of them was a snowman baby bib. The Snowman Baby Bib was purchased by Home and Garden Television for their website. You can download and print the pattern here:
Snowman Baby Bib.
It is a very quick and easy project for your little one! Let me know what you think of it!
The other four Christmas designs have been uploaded for sale to my website at:
Cute and Country Crochet. The newest designs are listed on the Christmas page.
You can view photos of them to the right in my 'flickr' photo badge.
I am busy working on my Country Treasures Column for the June 2006 issue of Crochet World. It should be done soon, and then I might have more time for updates!
